Nolte Center & Scott Hall

University of Minnesota (Minneapolis)

Nolte Center and Scott Hall are historic buildings within a block of each other on the East Bank of the University’s Minneapolis campus. They had identical problems: a lack of accessibility and the need for new elevators.

Our project was to provide code-compliant vertical access to all levels, upgrade building access to each facility for accessibility, and review any impact to existing restrooms to meet current code and ADA requirements. Scott had an abandoned elevator shaft. Nolte did not have any existing elevator facilities, and there was also a need to provide more direct accessible access from the adjacent parking garage.
